You are moved to tears, thinking of the short life that is Achilles' destiny. You promise to ask Zeus - as soon as he and the other gods get back from their trip to Ethiopia. By then (in 12 days time) Odysseus will have returned Chryseis to her father, and Apollo will have stopped his onslaught. You leave your son to fume alone for a while longer. |
