My old "kettle". My first big bike and an awful lot of fun. I sold it when the cost of keeping it on the road started to outstrip the Gross National Product of Switzerland. People say the Suzuki GT750 didn't handle, but at the time I had one, that wasn't an issue. Handling characteristics only became an issue when I bought my next big bike ...
This was the Yamaha XJ900F I owned, until the day it went mad and I had to shoot it. I wept that day, and not just because it had been given me a broken wrist. Ah, the fun we had together ... maybe I will do a list of injuries joyously obtained whilst riding this bike. Regards to the Sunday Morning gang (as was): Barry, Chris, Paul and all the others who occasionally joined us.
Here is a photograph of my old MZ TS125 Lux, the bike I learned on - ugly, ain't it? I had fun on it though, and mechanically, it was sound - once I had changed every original electrical component on it for a pattern replacement. The turning circle of this bike was such that I occasionally ran over my own backside.
I also had a Yamaha RS125. Always thought it behaved oddly on corners - perhaps the fact that its frame was bent had something to do with it. No photograph of this bike exists, as far as I am aware. Pity that the same cannot be said for my old MZ.
Yamaha XV535 - a lot of fun (apologies to the owner for scraping the pegs whilst doing the twisties).
BMW R600 - chugging along, singing a song.
Suzuki RF900 - scary bike.
