The model of the unique Autocoach No. 32 is built from a JLTRT kit, modified to suit a photograph taken before it was overhauled in 1929. This entailed making a corridor connection at the guards end, rehanging the centre door on the RH side, removing the mouldings below the waist panel and replacing the bogies.
The kit is predominately a resin body with white metal and lost wax brass detail castings and etched truss rods and bogies. The resin sides and ends provide the necessary depth to the window recesses, which is never properly portrayed by etched brass kits. The kit contained a pack of precut windows which greatly reduced the time spent glazing the many window openings. |
