Right. You've all seen
the hype surrounding this film. You've all read the awful reviews and decided not to go
and see it. But, it's not that bad - it's just not nearly as big as the promotion
suggests. Godzilla has excellent effects, but it does not move smoothly - parts which you
might expect to be ten minutes long were squashed into a couple of minutes, so overall, it
seems there is no plot, when really there is a plot, just it hasn't been thickened out -
they could have easily made it much longer, and much more fun. The film is enjoyable, but
all the entertainment comes from laughing at the bits which are s'posed to be serious -
the film is so cliched that it has to be seen to be believed (I think I enjoyed it more
than Deep Impact because of this). |
