| The Don |
   |
| The third (well technically fourth) wicked 187
Lockdown single in a year or so. The bass line is typically fantastic - Lockdown's Speed
Garage classics may be a bit cheesy, but that doesn't stop them being some of the best
songs in commercial British dance music - with this track being no exception. There's also
an awesome Sharp "DTPM" remix. |
| Kung Fu |
    |
| This is destined to be massive. One of my
favourite singles of 1998 so far, this combines a catchy classic Kung Fu hook, with a load
of Kung Fu film samples and Speed Garage beats. Wicked. And check out the amusing video
that goes with it too. |
| Gunman |
     |
| I bought this record the day it came out - the
1st of September 1997. It's a real classic, and got to number one in no less than two top
dance charts. The speed garage anthem is now top of my personal play list, and is
truly.... wicked! Buy this and get the sound of the summer '98, today!! Also features a
superb Natural Born Chillers remix. |

     |
| I was right! it was the sound of the summer
'98 - it was re-released in the UK around July 98 and went top 20 again. It featured a '98
radio edit which was barely different from the original. The song also got nominated for
an Ivor Novello song writing award - unfortunately they did not win, but a nomination for
such a sought-after award is still very good. |

last year. Nu Birth (AKA 187 Lockdown) have now re-released it on the XL label with some
new remixes. |
