12th March 1999 - Andy 'Ultra Flavour' Farley, The Disco Brothers, Deli-G
[5/5] |

| Club Description |
| Downstairs is the Combustion Chamber - a big,
multi-level hard house floor, with the DJ booth in the centre, lots of smoke, lots of
strobes and a loud sound system. There's a little chill out area downstairs too.
Upstairs there's the Smoking Lounge and a smaller underground garage floor with
less impressive lights and sound (as few dance there anyway). |
| Capacity |
| 800 |
| Popularity Of The Club |
| Very popular - packed - everyone loves the club
and the DJs - there's a great atmosphere |
| Nature of clubbers |
| In a city which has not got a particularly
friendly reputation, this club was full to the brim with friendly clubbers (even the,
ahem, drug dealers were dead friendly, even when you refuse to buy drugs).
Everybody's there for a great time, and everyone has one - though all of us get exhausted
after a few hours - 8 hours is a long time, but great fun, due to the two contrasting
dance floors - after a few hours of hard house you can relax to underground garage |

| DJs |
| Excellent - only heard about three familiar
floor-fillers throughout the night - one of those was Flat Beat, so that's understandable.
The other two were around 5.55 when you need something like that to pick you up.
Any DJs that can keep hundreds dancing ''til 6 in the morning without floor-fillers
are definitely something special |
| Dress code |
| Make an effort |
| Toilets |
| Busy, but adequate |
| Drinks |
| Beer - £2.50 per pint/can - Carling on tap,
plus Bud, Kronenberg, Coke, 7UP etc in cans |
| Age in General |
| A young-ish crowd, though plenty of older

| Bouncers |
| Friendly, no complaints at all |
| Food |
| At 6 in the morning, in the centre of Bristol
city, you might as well wait for McyD's or one of the many other fast food joints in the
area to open. |
| Alternative Clubs |
| Bristol is full of top quality clubs. Only
London has more clubs than Bristol in the South/South East. Expect more Bristol
reviews later this year. |

| Address |
| Club Loco, Hepburn Road, Bristol. Go to
Bristol centre (Be careful drunken kids don't mistake you for a taxi - it happen to us
twice! Also, avoid asking drunken people where the club is, as they tend to demand a lift
home in return!). Find the Beefeater near the giant Bentals, and
go left, through three sets of traffic lights, and Club Loco is through a tiny alleyway on
the right. |
