Daze/Summertime 98 |
   |
| Summertime is one of
the all-time classics, and here it is, remixed for 98 to compliment a cover of the 1977
Bill Withers hit Lovely Day, with new Will Smith rap of course! To coincide with Mackie's
World's birthday celebrations, a year after the original Mackie The Star was Mackie as
Will Smith in MIB, Mackie will be Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince. |

| A cool singles fro a
cool film (they'll be a review in the film section from 6th August (probably)). This song
uses the same sample from 'Forget Me Nots' that George Michael used on his recent (awful)
hit 'Fast Love', and uses it much more effectively. This song is hotly tipped to be UK
number one this week, but, more importantly, it is already number one on the only chart
that matters - my chart! The remixes on the CD, however are disappointing, but the edit is
cool enough to make that not matter. There's a free poster too in the CD I've got, plus a
song by Alicia Keys called 'Dah Dee Dah (Sexy Thing)' which seems a weird track to be put
as a B-side to Will Smith, but is a pretty good track. |
| Miami |
   |
| The fifth single from Big Willie Style is another
pop-rap classic, and is worth getting for the Jason Nevins remix. The Miami Sound
Machine remix is far too pop-dance for my liking. Miami's promotional video is a
masterpiece and worth looking out for. |
