Skint Records have loads of hugely talented artists.  Originally Fatboy Slim, Bentley Rhythm Ace and Midfield General all were much more exciting than the Lo Fidelity Allstars, but this year, the Lo-Fi's have got so good that they're second only to the almighty Norm.  I mean, even the Beastie Boys are fans, and want to distribute their records in the 'States.  But then again it's the same situation for Bis.  No, really.  Unfortunately the superb new single, Battleflag, failed to make as big a chart impact as was hoped, but still, a top 40 hit is nothing to be sniffed at.  Lo-fidelity Allstars deserve to be massive, with a sound which is ideal for the end of the Millennium - I think of them as a dancier Asiandubfoundation - How To Operate With A Blown Mind is not quite as good as Rafi's Revenge but it's definitely one of the best albums of the year.

Yet another classic release from the amazing Skint Records. The CD also features a storming Midfield General remix

I originally got hold of this fantastic 'new' single on the MTV Amp 2 compilation CD - their it appeared in its original form - as a Lo-fidelity Allstars remix of a Pigeonhed track.  It was the first remix the Lo-Fi's ever did, and was so good, and so different from the original that they decided it should be released as their own track - which is fair enough, but the end result took months and months to come out, and all the roughness and freshness was edited out - though it still sounds like Jamiroquai with a Lo-Fi rap on the top of it.   There are two CDs - one of them has an excellent Space Raiders (Of Glam Raid fame) remix.
