The Society of Holistic Practitioners was founded in the early 1980s to act as a professional body for graduates of the College of Holistic Medicine and the Natural Therapeutics Research Trust.

Its main aims are detailed in its Objects & Rules. The Code of Ethics details how members of the Society should conduct their practices.
