Christmas
Fair
Over
the Christmas Season we had craft making sessions and a fair at which we raised
£282 for Sunday School funds. This will help to pay for new materials and books
and to pay for our annual outing in May. On our recent outings we have been to
the Forbidden Corner, an ice cream parlour, Walking with Dinosaurs, the Sea Life
Centre, the Honey Farm and the World of James Herriot.
Crib
Service
On
Christmas Eve the children took part in a lovely Crib Service by Candlelight
with stories carols poems reading and a talk around the crib. The collection of
£75 will be split between Church funds and Children in Need.
Sunday
School Sessions
For
our January Sunday School Session we went on a nature walk looking at good and
bad things in creation. The children decided that most things could be good or
bad depending upon circumstances and how they were used. This taught us to look
at things with a more open mind and to be
responsible for our actions.
In
February we had stories and discussions and painted pictures about good and bad
things in Bible Stories. We talked about the differences and the similarities
with other faiths and beliefs.
In
March we had a session making posies to hand to mothers on mothering Sunday and
the children led the service in Church.
In
April we had quizzes and stories in the village Hall and the children painted
pictures connected with the stories.
In
May we had our outing to the Forbidden Corner and the Ice Cream Parlour in
Masham
