| The Story so far... ..A decade ago, they were virtually unheard of. A small-town band, formed in highschool during the 80's. Back then it was four young boys, all close friends, all sharing the same interests and the same old dream; they wanted to be "rock stars". From their early teens, they all strived to fulfil their ambitions and goals in life, but it wasn't until they came together, by chance, that they were finally able to unleash themselves upon the World. And together, as one, they have become one of the biggest bands of the 90's. They are LIVE. |
||
| ...They came together, during their days at William Penn Senior High School. At first it was Chad G, Chad T and Pat who began discovering themselves as musicians, after a school talent show. They discovered that girls screamed at them, which of course, "they were into". They then realised that to last musically, they needed a singer. Having known Ed for a while, he joined the group, as vocalist. | ||
| ...Previously known as Public Affection, back in the late 80's, they played small venues, covering old songs which meant they were accepted. When they introduced some of their own material, quoted by Pat as "half-decent songs", the crowds proved harder to please. (They did release an album as PA, called "Death of a Dictionary".) | ||
| ... Having set their sights on a record deal, perseverance and sheer determination paid off. They were signed to a record label, namely Radioactive in the early 90's. It was also here that they changed their name to the present: LIVE. (An apt name, I'm sure you'll agree if you've had the *pleasure* of seeing them live). | ||
| ...Four Songs was released in September '91 and a quick follow up of Mental Jewelry in December '91; made their break into the music industry. Since then, they have released a total of 3 albums as LIVE. The above mentioned 'Mental Jewelry','Throwing Copper' and this years spectacular offering: 'Secret Samadhi'. | ||
| ..And now, currently following them on their 'Secret Samadhi' tour, (or World Domination tour as I see it), we finally see them recognised as the band to be seen. LIVE. |
| This review on Live's history has been
based upon several different articles that I have
studied. I believe it to be as accurate as possible to the best of my knowledge. If you know of any discrepancies please mail me at mam01@globalnet.co.uk with the correct info. Thanks. |
