Ghetto Boxer intends to explore the transitions our world is facing, the way elements of the past and of the future interact and flavour our present. How old communities are coping or mutating, and new ones are coming into being. The investigation of facts and dreams and fears. How individuals are struggling

Why Ghetto Boxer? Ghetto because the world has always and continues to be filled with ghettos: of the dispossessed, but also of the privileged. And how many ghettos are self-inflicted? Boxer for style, swiftness, and a well-packed punch (and here I think of Ali!). And Ghetto Boxer together, because boxing has always been one of the traditional ways (together with music) of getting out of traditional ghettos. Because Ghetto Boxers are lean and hungry and cannot afford to be complacent.

So Ghetto Boxer intends to report on and from the whole "global village", with a series of "snapshots" that cross boundaries and borders, be they national, social, academic, etc. Seeking to piece together mosaics of meaning through the use of diverse perspectives. Personal, local, trans-national. Strongly internationalist in feel, it strives to make full use of the Net's potential by being able to be everywhere and by creating a trans-national network of contributors.

Ghetto Boxer is essentially about contamination and transformation.
