BRENDA KIDD MEMORIAL TROPHY

Brenda Kidd’s last request was that some of her personal possessions be sold by myself.
The sums of £200 & £150 were raised. The £200 went to the Marie Curie as requested by Brenda’s husband

He asked for the second sum to be used in her memory.

I approached the East Anglian Border Collie Club to see if they were prepared to help, as Brenda was a founder member.
It was agreed that a trophy was to be presented to the best puppy at Crufts on the day; sadly the KC turned this down.
It was then decided that the trophy could be presented at the EABCC champ show still keeping it as best puppy.

After corresponding with the Club, the committee that are now in office of the EABCC forgot to inform me that they had accepted an anonymous donor.

If they had been honest and straight in the first place, by carrying out the decisions made, then there would have been no reason to raise this at the AGM of 2005.
As this again was not made clear to the members, I wrote to the club asking for an explanation.

I am still waiting for a reply.

At this year's AGM, again they could not give an explanation, as to why they accepted an anonymous donor, knowing full well that the money had already been raised.

I wrote to the club for an apology, also expressing my concerns, I have again requested that members, many of whom raised the money in the first place be notified in the newsletter as to what happened.

The Club have just informed me that they are not prepared to inform the members what happened to the money.

It is very sad that Brenda's memory has been ignored by the club that she worked tirelessly to form as a club in her area.

With the consent of Brenda's husband the £150 has now been donated to the Marie Curie fund
