Believing that film Science Fiction is only at the level of early pulp SF, true fans became fed up with the film industry calling their product sci-fi to pass off as SF. The fans changed the spelling; the term now means something along the lines of cowboys and indians, or cops and robbers, in space. Any story where you can take away the science content and still have a story is skiffy. |
