.BIOGRAPHY.
Methedreame are:-
Matthew Yexley (TOP):- Vocals, bass, guitar, keyboards, programming
Simon Flynn:- Guitars and backing vocals
Melanie Spruce (the one on the right!):- Guitars and backing vocals
Simon and Matthew started their musical relationship in October 1989, when in a covers band at College. This band became Methedreame (a made up word, based on the concept of a Methadrine dream and the associated chaotic paranoia / euphoria prevalent with recreational drugs).
Methedreame started playing their own material. They went through numerous line up changes, with only Matthew and Simon remaining constant, before sticking with this format for several years.
Methedreame have developed a strong live show and have performed with such bands as James Rays Gangwar, Rosetta Stone and toured with Inkubus Sukkubus, several times.
To date, they have released two demo albums, Dreams and Liebe, Haß, und Furcht, both recorded on a four track.
Methedreame have been offered, and have turned down, three record deals and a publishing deal, due to "artistic integrity"!
They were given free studio time at a 24 track studio, in Reading, by an appreciative associate of the studio, and recorded an EP. The EP was due to be released (Independantly) throughout the UK and Germany in March 1996, with German and UK TV arranged. However the Studio blew up, destroying everything!
A write up of the band was included in Mick Mercer's "Hex Files: The Goth Bible" which has generated some interest in Methedreame's activities.
Methedreame have gotten tired of the limitations that hiring recording studios places on small bands and have just built their own!(see News) They intend to make CD ready masters for licensing to be released through waiting record labels.
A new guitarist, Melanie Spruce, has joined the band this year. Mel comes from an accomplished background as a guitarist for several bands in the USA, including Executrix and Allegro Panic. She also runs her own "Gothic" Clothes store in Bristol, called Elrics.
