Death By Dreaming

All these words

I’ve said before

Each time, the cut

It bleeds some more

I can’t remember

How or when

I lost my heart

Or who’s to blame

I just can’t see

Why pain’s so pure

And every time

I just seek more

I walk alone

I can’t love you

I’m going home

I won’t lose you

I’ve found the stone

But I can’t feel you

My body’s numb

I can’t see you

My life’s undone

I can’t hear you

I acquiesce

I can’t be you

Remember me?

I’m sure you do

The shadow’s free

It knows you too

The stranger’s me

Against my will

What you can’t see is

Behind you still

If you need to ask

You can’t understand

Forget the lies

And take my hand

Death by dreaming

Take my broken hand

Beyond the age of reason

In a foreign land

I can’t let you stay here

Behind this door

Will you please excuse me?

I must die some more

What am I saying?

They’re only words

I have no feelings

A life to curse

The lingering illness

Is over at last

And the fever

Called "living"

Is conquered

And passed
