Each piece has been freehand painted with metal oxide colours and fired at least three times
in an electric kiln. The markings on the Koi have been enhanced with 22 carat burnish gold and on some pieces platinum
has been used on the rim or foot. The aqua effect background is achieved using a very old technique using different
oils in precise proportions, found in a Victorian china painting techniques book.
The Aqua range also includes designs with angel fish, sea horses, dolphins and
dragonflies : these are all enhanced with platinum. Most of these items are limited editions : the number is indicated
on the detail pages.
