Miniature pieces

These 1/12 scale miniatures are decorated in exactly the same way as the full size pieces that we produce i.e. three painting fires and one gold fire, the main difference is that the miniature cups and saucers, teapots, vases etc, are extremely difficult to hold.

We have had to develop some top secret ways of holding these delicate items so we can freehand paint and gild them. One of the hardest tasks was actually placing every gold dot on the china with a ten hair brush.

The miniature white ware pieces are produced by Avon Miniatures in Devon : they are so fine that the tea pot has a hollow spout. The next teaset will have game birds on it. The temple jar with the sea battle on is the first of many with different subjects,

Marie will be producing some with fruit, and some with pansies or primroses, so watch this space !

Please note that the coin in the pictures below
is a British £1, it is roughly 23 mm in diameter.
