Charity and Community Events 2000 

Saturday 4th June 2000  - Twyford Donkey Derby.  Click Here for Photos of the day.  Twyford RT has a stall at the Donkey Derby organised by Twyford Scouts.  The idea was to try and score penalties against the agile members of Twyford RT.  Richard ' The Cat' Winterburn, or illustrious Sports Officer managed to let in 10 penalties in a row.  We also presented a number of cheques to local good causes from the money, including Age Concern, Chernobyl Children and Round Table Children's Wish.

Saturday 10th June 2000 - Wokingham Carnival.  Twyford and District RT ran  a burger stall at Wokingham Carnival  The event took place at Cantley Field in Wokingham.  The familiar fair ground rides and side stalls  were present,  and  included a 'super school challenge' between local schools which will add fresh community involvement. For more details, visit www.wokinghamssc.org.uk. The burger stall itself raised around £400 which will be distributed to good causes, mainly in the Twyford Area.

Saturday 18th June 2000 and Saturday 24th June 2000.  Twyford RT manned the car parks at the Reading Regatta, following the generous loan of boats and help for  Rowlock Rally which enabled us to raise money for Round Table Children's Wish

Saturday 28th October 2000 - This was Twyford Round Table fireworks

December 2000 - The santa float toured Twyford, allowing Children to meet Santa and collecting money for local charities.  We raised well over £1000 with this. Thank you Twyford, Charvil, Hurst, Ruscombe and Wargrave.
