1) If you are fitting a front subframe into a Morris body. Use the Austin Studs instead of the Morris bolts. It makes locating a doodle, especially if it includes the engine etc. I used to race for a Morris team and someone would go to the other garage for them. 2) A cheap way to compress the front suspension is to weld a 1/2 AF (or metric on a newer s/frame) bolt on to 3/4 inch coarse Whitworth or similar studding. Use an inch or so of spacers, one nut to compress and a pair of nuts welded at the top to wind it into the cup. Then adjust the loose nut against the spacers and up it comes. 3) When you have the engine /gearboxes out don't put the two clutch bell housing bolts, which are in the way of the back of the subframe in. You will be very pleased the next time you take it out. Many years racing proved they are not essential. 4) If you would like to make a Clubman look a bit different fit square Hillman Hunter lights they fit and look good Cheers Ken Appleby
