Ingleby Manor - Gardens & Grounds

Gardens and Grounds

Fifty acres of beautiful walled gardens and private woodland surround Ingleby Manor and provide a haven of peace and quiet in which to relax and enjoy wonderful views of the nearby Cleveland Hills and moorland.

This secluded corner of the North York Moors National Park is a paradise for the naturalist and walker. Birdwatchers will delight in the many species to be found here - a Hoopoe visited us in 1990. We also have wild roe deer in the woods and free fishing for brown trout in Ingleby Beck.

Children love to help to feed the ponies, put saucers of milk out for the hedgehogs and bread for the ducks and waterhens. They also enjoy the children's playhouse with toys and sandpit, handball, football, cricket and rounders, Adults can try their skill at bowls and croquet in the walled garden, snooker and table tennis, and a barbecue is available for al fresco cooking.

For a leisurely stroll, a woodland walk along the stream leads to the village to visit to the little 12th century church, returning along the bottom of the hills by Bank Foot Farm and across the fields.

For more serious walkers, a walk and climb of about 30 minutes brings you onto the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast Walk.
