Allan Pleasants
This match really got our season going. Nigel winning quickly when his opponent blundered set the ball in motion and Jamie followed with a win on top board, then solid performances from the rest of the top half. It was on the lower boards that we dominated with Selina, Ian and Nigel all winning. Selina winning an opposite coloured bishop ending to set up an impressive overall win.

Another very solid performance by the team. This time Tom and Phil, our draw specialists, both achieved their first 4NCL wins. Nick played his usual exciting style and caught his opponents king in the open. This gave us an early win.
Over the weekend we did not lose a single game, leaving much praise to be shouted by the captain, but sadly nobody heard. [I lost my voice on the Thursday before the weekend]
Thanks to everyone who played this weekend.
Our next match is against the ADS 2, followed by Poisoned Pawns 1 on the 16th and 17th April 2005.
