The English singer/entertainer and
former Broadway Star has also had his own television series in which he

MARGRIET:
What's your favourite book?
MICHAEL: Interview With
The Vampire by Anne Rice. The book fascinates me because the
vampires in it almost aren't scary anymore. Rice portrays them as
very sensitive, mysterious and sensual creatures.
MARGRIET: What's your favourite
film?
MICHAEL: Bullets over
Broadway from Woody Allen. I think it's very witty. The
characters are so recognisable: the neurotic prima donna, the 'gangster's
darling' who wants a part and the star actor with his 'feeding frenzies'.
You really find people like them on Broadway.
MARGRIET: What's your favourite
CD?
MICHAEL: Blue by Joni
Mitchell, because of the beautiful, autobiographical songs and her voice
which is as pure as gold.
MARGRIET: Describe your ultimate
holiday.
MICHAEL: It would be fantastic
if I could transport my English cottage with thatched roof to the Caribbean.
MARGRIET: What do you do to
blow off steam?
MICHAEL: Walk along the beach
with my dog Yogi. Nature makes you realise that your problems are
smaller than they appear to be.
MARGRIET: What's your favourite
drink?
MICHAEL: Cranberry Juice.
It tastes delicious and it contains a lot of vitamin C. Very healthy
... provided I don't mix it with vodka.
MARGRIET: Name something you
always carry with you when you're travelling.
MICHAEL: Scented candles.
My favourites are Myrhh and Patchouli and Jasmine. I sometimes burn
two at a time to create a new scent"
