Fish - © Jane Eborall

The fish, as seen in the picture above, shows an interpretation of what can be achieved with the following basic pattern.  The pattern has been written to show the fish worked in one colour and without beads.  The split chain method is used to enable the whole of the main body to be worked without cutting and joining.  I have also added an optional fin which stands out from the fish’s body.

Materials used:-1 shuttle, No. 20 crochet cotton, 1 large bead.

Abbreviations

SCh

split chain      vsp very small picot SLT shoe lace trick (tie a knot) + join

Start with the main body of the fish, finishing with the head and tail.

NOTE:- ALL chains, unless stated are 8ds vsp 8ds.  A bead is included in the first ring for the eye.  After each split chain you need to do the SLT.
