THE NEW EDUCATION
PART IV
THE PARADOX OF PROGRESS

August, 2006

Noel Huntley, Ph.D.

If an advanced extraterrestrial were to stop by planet Earth, make some detailed evaluations of human behaviour, science and technology, he or she might arrive at a paradox; that on the one hand, humans were remarkably ingenious, but on the other, extraordinarily stupid. In addition, they were apparently making great progress, and yet no real progress, simultaneously.

By progress we mean that which relates to evolution, advancing knowledge, science and technologies, and all activities which are open to new changes. Having defined it as such we can now show that 'progress' has two very different paths but with far-reaching implications. It can be divided into two categories: 1) consolidation, 2) expansion.

The aberration of a society will violate the optimum relationship between these two factors. The resulting imbalance is usually stagnation, closed systems, plateaus, habit patterns, dogmas, 3D logic and deductive thinking only, finalising in egotistical states of mind. Thus ideal conditions will have a fine balance between change, and no change. The underlying physics of all this is directly related to chaos theory, fractals, stability/instability, order/disorder and open and closed systems (see other articles on these subjects).

At the most fundamental level we know that all is energy (frequencies/oscillations/ rotations), and that it is not only in continuous motion but that there is continuous change. However, to have a viable existence such as ours there must be stability, with little or no change for significant periods (we must have objects, or memories, etc. which persist for a time). Nevertheless energy, even though in continuous motion, can form stable states (by means of polarities and counteraction). There is a fine balance between stability and instability, also order and disorder, but nature has no problem with this. It is man's imbalanced condition which biasses him towards over-consolidation, closing off systems of knowledge, need for security, fear of changing conditions, of losing anything, and need for predictability.

All the above have in common: lack of expansion. Civilisation has been programmed to block the natural expansion factor of progress or change. Education focusses on programming and structuralising the mind (consolidating), creating closed systems of knowledge and suppressing the intuition, imagination, which would enable expansion to occur. In other words, education does not recognise what expansion means. The intuitional aspect of consciousness is capable of stepping outside closed systems of knowledge (and dogmas) and raising them to a higher integration---a higher stable level and even a higher logic (4D or multidimensional). The universe doesn't even function on simple linear 3D logic, except at the interface level of the scientific or ego-observation of the universe.

The author discovered that the key to higher skills is expansion of learning patterns (increasing information density and capacity). (See articles on skills, and book.) Science denies this and teaches that only consolidation (coordination within given learning patterns) occurs as we are just a brain with a limited number of cells (fixed computer capacity). Consequently the methods of musical training do not encourage expansion of information, only stabilisation of the given data in the closed (learning pattern) system. A musician is focussing only on interconnecting and stabilisation of learning patterns, and not quantum leaps of expansion through incremental changes during small moments of instability and chaos to produce change. It would help to understand that the term confusion---which may arise during the unstable periods of learning---originates from co-fusion; which can in fact lead to higher orders.

Moreover, science, education, and television documentaries are brainwashing the population with the limiting and false notion that consciousness is a byproduct of the brain. Thus the expansion of consciousness as an evolutionary factor is denied. Such teachings can only have the end result of the civilisation's demise. If the brain/body theory were true then of course such knowledge would not lead to the end times since there would be no blocking of inner energies of man's multidimensional nature as there is today, which inevitably results in disaster for the human race.

Note how compulsively we close off systems of knowledge---even Newton's laws or Einstein's relativity. This is essentially an ego characteristic---mainly left brain, linear, 3D thinking, and emphasis on self. The ego itself endeavours to form its own closed systems by denying higher aspects of this consciousness. This automatically denies inner space, higher fractals, such as the soul, and a single, or God source (there is a symbiosis between science and consciousness---see article on this). The ego will seek security and readily fall for the illusion that scientifically proven laws are immutable and the attitude 'we have the answers'. Both Newton's laws and relativity have become dogmas. If you question either, you will be attacked. They are both part of larger integrations which, from the greater perspective, will produce different results, for example, that you can have acceleration without force (violation of Newton's second law) and that you can exceed light speed, which is not constant).

Thus we can have ingenuity and stupidity simultaneously---that is, advancement and lack of advancement. If we state that our science is only in its infancy the reason why many, almost justifiably, will protest this, is that they are focussing on the ingenuity, for example, the amazing workability achieved of the car combustion engine, and doing almost the impossible, getting a rocket ship to the Moon. In other words, only looking within the closed system and the consolidation of knowledge, rather than recognising we could have progressed to far superior systems. Of course we can also know that the 'stupidity' factor is a complex function, consisting not only of ignorance, but also control of information, and allowing this suppression to occur. Let's give a simple analogy to high-light the simultaneous and contrasting behaviour of ingenuity and stupidity.

Imagine a workman standing in a small circle and also within this circle is a hammer and nails. Now picture another larger circle around the first and in this circle, outside the bounds of the first one, is say, an electric drill, and so on, further circles with an electric saw and more and more advanced tools. We say to the workman, 'Build a house'. He looks down at the hammer and nails and picks them up. But you say, 'Look around---there's more.'

He considers you're talking nonsense and won't look at anything more than the hammer and nails. Amazingly he 'builds the house' and does a remarkable job. This illustrates precisely the human's constructive ability on this planet: setting ludicrous limitations, then demonstrating high ability within these limitations. The combustion engine could have long since been replaced by superior systems, and regarding the rocket ship one does not have to obey Newton's laws, involving massive forces and inertia, not to mention huge quantities of fuel and outrageous dangers (see articles on inertia and gravity). We know of course that man has been set up with this limiting belief system but, nevertheless, he even fails to realise he has been manipulated, he has become so naive.

The human race, whose thinking and behaviour is subtly moulded by programming ego-values, and a need for predictability and security, readily closes off systems of thought or knowledge and clings to a condition of no change and therefore no real progress---just the nature of change within the system's limitations. This is so widespread in our civilisation it is considered normal. An 'implant' of closed-mindedness pervades our population like a disease.
