So you want to know something about me?

Nogbad the Bad

My life experience includes working as a Children's Entertainer on a holiday camp in Scarborough (great fun!) and Internal Auditor for a firm of Funeral Directors (far fewer laughs but I met some amazing people). I spent a year living in Munich while I trained and managed a team of auditors there (and learnt German - after a fashion) and for a number of years I was the Operational Audit and Communications Manager for Budgens Stores Ltd.

I then went to Omron Systems UK as a Project Manager and from there moved to IS Retail where I stayed for four years as a Technical Consultant. When IS Retail shifted into selling hardware only I moved to Turnbull & Asser (very posh shirts & ties) as IT Manager but commuting to the centre of London every day took its toll - between 4 and 6 hours in the car to cover 90 miles every day is just no fun! I am contracted to the National Extension College as a tutor on their "Tutoring online" course which explores how tutors and teachers might use online technologies in their daily practice.

I worked for the Open University as an Associate Lecturer on T171 "You, Your Computer and the Internet" and now I'm working on M150 which is a first level computing course, other courses I've worked on include TU170 and TT281. I graduated from the Open University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree and a Diploma in Systems Practice (DipSysPrac) - check out this page for details - I'm now studying for a Masters degree in education.

I live alone in a tiny hamlet in rural Kent, not far from Canterbury. My three children live with their mother. We were married for 21 years but we're now separated.

If anything is worth doing it is worth doing well and if we can put a man on the moon we really can achieve anything can't we?

Life doesn't present obstacles, just hurdles to overcome.
