El Divino
One of the newer clubs in Ibiza, El Divino has captured the style, elegance and cosmopolitian atmosphere that surrounds the Port and Old Town of Ibiza. The club is situated in the Port, and can be reached either by bus, or by the free boat that is laid on from the other side of the harbour by the Old Town. During the peak of the season, it is not unusual to see yachts surrounding the club - and these ain't no little fishing boats !!!! The VIP area is usually populated by young and aging millionaire gent's, all surrounded by young, beautiful and impressionable girls who seem to be willing to do anything to get into their victims wallet/wrap of coke. I heard that the entrance fee to get into the VIP was only three bottles of vino or spirits - a snip at £100 each......
As you can see, El Divino is situated right in the middle of the money - can a club have a better location than this ???
During 1998, El Divino gave nights to the promoters of Submission, Decadance and Miss Moneypennies.
From personal experience, I can only comment on the Moneypennies parties, which were fabulous affairs (especially after Manumission, Space and Bora Bora - Jay ??!). The highlight of Miss Moneypennies for me was without a doubt the backroom. Jools, who I think DJ's for them back in England, did a great job playing all of the old school classics all summer long. He played an absolute stormer on the night of the closing party - and it was thoroughly appreciated by all - just a pity about the lack of monitors there - good work fella !!!
The Closing party was a good one, it was a bonus when one of the workers found a cupborad FULL of wine - how many bottles were smuggled out that morning ?? Messy as fuck !!!!
I've heard talk that Trinity are looking to run nights in El Divino alongside Trade in 1999 - that is guaranteed
to be a blinding partnership - keep your eyes on this space.......!!!
