GOING TO BOARDING SCHOOL is a handbook for children about to board for the first time. It describes everyday life in British boarding schools and those run along the same lines in other parts of the world. The book is intended to be read before the first term and then to be used for reference once away from home.
It covers everything from visiting a new school to a look at dormitory life, advice on free time, where to go with problems and includes a typical prep school daily routine.
With this little book boarding school will seem much more fun and much less surprising.
TAMSIN RAWLINS trained as a nurse at Westminster Children's Hospital in London. She left the National Health Service in 1986 and has since worked as a school nurse and matron in boarding schools in the south of England.
