After you describe your project specifications, I will provide an estimate of the time
required. If I cannot complete the project in the estimated time, I will not charge you at all, unless you authorise me to continue work under a revised estimate. I can usually
complete projects within a week.
My work is guaranteed. Bug fixes are always done without charge. I also will provide occasional continuing support in the form of minor modifications without charge. However, future work done to enhance functionality beyond the original specifications, or to install on a different server, is charged at the regular rate. If your project is large and mission-critical, you should budget for continuing support.
In requesting an estimate, please provide as many details about your project as possible. Describe the functionality you wish, point to example web pages or scripts, or even
prepare draft web forms.
I generally work only on Unix servers with Perl 5. I will also require temporary telnet access to your web site for installation and tuning. (It is almost always unreasonably time consuming to try to instruct you to do this. If this is necessary, I must charge you for the additional time, typically 1 - 3 hours.) You can either give me a temporary
account, or change the password on your account, give it to me for a day, then change it back.
