FORMED
  • The league was formed in 1966, the year that was famous for the last time in which England won the World Cup. Originally named the Bath & Bristol Schoolboy League, several of our existing clubs were founder members.
  • NAME CHANGES

Following alterations in County boundaries the League changed its name to ‘The County of Avon Youth League’ which was shortened to the current title in 1996 when Bristol regained the status of City and County and the County of Avon was abolished.

    LOGO

  • The new logo shown above was designed as a symbol of the changing face of youth football as we move towards the new millennium. For old times sake and the interest of history our old logo is shown here. It depicts the Clifton Suspension bridge built by the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel whose other claims to fame include GWR Railways and the first all steel ship the SS Great Britain.
