Our Mission Prayer

Father in Heaven we rely on You in all things, For we are powerless without You. We offer you our Mission. May it be a time of healing and renewal.

May your Light shine upon us all.  May we receive your blessings and know that they come from You.  May we become Your apostles and witness to the world that Your kindness is infinite, Your forgiveness unending, for Your love for us has no bounds.  May we allow You to enter our lives more fully and may we share the joy of knowing You with all around us.  Amen.

WITH APOLOGIES FOR ADVERTISING INCORRECT MASS TIMES  LAST WEEK

CONSULTATION RE: UNITING OF OUR TWO PARISHES – Earlier in the summer, both Parish Pastoral Councils and both Finance Committees unanimously recommended that the two parishes should unite for administrative and pastoral benefits.  Wide consultation was carried out through pulpit and newsletter announcements, open meetings, and a ‘Consultation Paper’ given to all mass-goers.  Only a few people responded – mostly verbally and almost all in favour.   A few were disappointed about the minor changes to Mass times on Sunday mornings and holydays.  Some made suggestions about a new name for the new parish.  Apparently, I did not make if sufficiently clear that there would not be any need for a new name unless there was a significant groundswell of opinion that the current ‘Annunciation & St Edmund Campion’ was unacceptable.  No one has expressed dissatisfaction with this name, so I do not propose to change it.  Both Parish Pastoral Councils met last week  and agreed that I should ask the Bishop to unite the two parishes.  He will need to consult his advisors and the Diocesan administration to make necessary arrangements.  In the meantime. . . .

From 1st Sunday of Advent (2nd Dec 2001)
