Our Mission Prayer

Father in Heaven we rely on You in all things, For we are powerless without You. We offer you our Mission. May it be a time of healing and renewal.

May your Light shine upon us all.  May we receive your blessings and know that they come from You.  May we become Your apostles and witness to the world that Your kindness is infinite, Your forgiveness unending, for Your love for us has no bounds.  May we allow You to enter our lives more fully and may we share the joy of knowing You with all around us.  Amen.

THEMES FOR DAILY INTERCESSION PRIOR TO THE MISSION

3rd – 18th November

July

Pray for all the priests of our Deanery; For our Priest and his pastoral work.

Pray for the leaders of all Christian Churches in our area.

Pray for the protection and unity of family life, for the victims of broken marriages, the divorced and children coming from such families.

Pray for all the young people in the parish; that they may hear the Lord’s invitation to experience life in its fullness; that they may not be held back because of fear of what their friends may say.

Next Saturday (14th)

WELCOME TO BISHOP CRISPIAN

Who comes to St.Edmund Campion for the  6.30pm Mass to confer the Ministry of Lector on Barry Jennings who is preparing to be ordained as a Permanent Deacon to serve our 2 parishes. Mass will be followed by light refreshments in EC hall – please come!

PLEASE PRAY for the repose of the souls of Mary Tuffin Carley (formerly of Annunciation  Parish) & Eddie Detain of St.Edmund Campion parish, who died during the week. Details of funerals are overleaf. Our sincere condolences & prayers to both families in their sad loss.

2 into 1 COULD GO!

Both Finance Committees and both Parish Pastoral Councils met recently to review the 2-parish partnership – now almost 3 years old. All UNANIMOUSLY RECOMMEND that we apply to the Bishop, through the Diocesan Council of Priests for permission to officially become one parish. BUT this recommendation has to be freely discussed at an open parish meeting and, if supported, will then be forwarded to the diocese for action. COME & DISCUSS THE PROS & CONS – FRI.20TH JULY 7.30pm St.E. CAMPION HALL. Before this meeting, the Chairmen of both PPC’s will prepare & circulate a short report outlining the benefits etc. Also, the timing of morning masses on Sundays & Holydays needs to be adjusted to avoid overlap. We have waited 3 years for the Deanery to conduct a review of mass times in the Deanery, but as this has still not happened, we need to deal with it independently. PRAY about this, and share your understanding of God’s will for our future. Fr.Tony is happy to discuss this with anyone who is concerned – phone for an appointment anytime.
