EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our Mission Prayer

Father in Heaven we rely on You in all things, For we are powerless without You. We offer you our Mission. May it be a time of healing and renewal.

May your Light shine upon us all.  May we receive your blessings and know that they come from You.  May we become Your apostles and witness to the world that Your kindness is infinite, Your forgiveness unending, for Your love for us has no bounds.  May we allow You to enter our lives more fully and may we share the joy of knowing You with all around us.  Amen.

THEMES FOR DAILY INTERCESSION PRIOR TO THE MISSION

3rd – 18th November

July

Pray for all the priests of our Deanery; For our Priest and his pastoral work.

Pray for the leaders of all Christian Churches in our area.

Pray for the protection and unity of family life, for the victims of broken marriages, the divorced and children coming from such families.

Pray for all the young people in the parish; that they may hear the Lord’s invitation to experience life in its fullness; that they may not be held back because of fear of what their friends may say.

WELCOME TO BISHOP CRISPIAN who comes to St Edmund Campion today (Saturday 14th July) for the 6.30 pm Mass to confer the Ministry of Lector on Barry Jennings who is preparing to be ordained as a Permanent Deacon to serve our two parishes.  Mass will be followed by light refreshments in EC Hall.

ONE PARISH ?? There is a recommendation that our two parishes consider applying to become one parish. Both churches would continue to operate as they do now but with Sunday and Holyday morning Mass times adjusted to avoid overlapping.  The ending of administrative duplication would divert a lot of time and money to more pastoral needs.  St Edmund Campion Deposit Account funds would be strictly reserved for use on St Edmund Campion Church, Hall, House & Grounds.  To avoid any feeling that one parish is being taken over by the other, it might be possible, if a majority desire it, to choose a new name for the new parish while retaining the existing names for the churches.  PRAY HARD ABOUT THIS to discern God’s will and come to the OPEN MEETING ON FRIDAY 20TH AT ST EDMUND CAMPION HALL AT 7.30 PM to discuss the pros and cons, or talk to Fr Tony about your feelings.
