May your Light shine upon us all.  May we receive your blessings and know that they come from You.  May we become Your apostles and witness to the world that Your kindness is infinite, Your forgiveness unending, for Your love for us has no bounds.  May we allow You to enter our lives more fully and may we share the joy of knowing You with all around us.  Amen.

NOVENA TO THE HOLY SPIRIT – Leaflets will be available in both churches on Ascension Day (Thursday 24th May)

FLOWERS FOR OUR LADY

 - in  May will be next  weekend AT ANNUNCIATION CHURCH.  You may  bring your own flowers and place them in the Lady Chapel.  No loose flowers please, all flowers must be in containers clearly labelled if to be returned.  The church will be open  to receive flowere and so that you can have a few quiet moments of prayer at the following times.  Friday 25th May 2.00 – 4.30 pm & Sat 26th May 10.30 – 11.30 am and before each  Sunday Mass.  There will be displays from each class of St Walburga’s School.  This year, due to short notice, there will be a simple loving offering to Mary , Our Blessed Mother.

HOPE FM – CHRISTIAN RADIO

Hope FM will be broadcasting again for 28 days from Sun  27th May until Sat 23rd June.  News and interesting stories from local churches or church members regarding their faith is always needed.  Contact Simon Bowkett, Programmes Manager  on 01202 315200

PRAYER GROUP – The Prayer Group will not be meeting in the Small Hall for the next two weeks as they will be participating in the Life in the Spirit Seminars (as advertised below).  The Group will resume as usual in the Small Hall on Wed 6th June.

SUNDAY 20th MAY 2001 – Cardinal Murphy O’Connor (& Bishop Declan Lang ) will be taking part in a Mass of Thanksgiving to mark the completion of the interior refurbishment of the Cathedral, in the presence of representatives from all the parishes of the Diocese.


Westbourne Orchestra

23rd June, Annunciation

The orchestra will again be performing a concert in the Annunciation Church on 23rd June.  Admission will be by programme on the door at a cost of £5.00 or £4.00 concession for senior citizens or students.  Families will be admitted for £10.00Highlights of the concert will be ‘Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach  Dvorak’s G Major Symphony  No. 8, Sibelius’ Finlandia  and Bach’s Concerto in D Minor for 2 violins.  For more details see flyers in both churches.The orchestra are keen to enlist a volunteer to aid them in selling Programmes at the door and  CDs’ and car stickers at the concert.  All proceeds after expenses will go to charity.  If you can help please contact Victor King on 01202 701759 or Brenda Sidebotham on 01794 514008.
