All-Saints Church "At the Seaside".
10th July 1999. The procession left Holmesdale School after lunch to large cheering crowds who lined the route as usual. It almost proved too popular as because of the number of floats the front end met the tail end whilst completing the circular route around Queens Avenue and promptly got itself stuck. With the intervention of the local police specials the muddle was sorted and they arrived at the Potyns Sports ground and community centre in two halves about an hour later. Judging was done by local doctors. Winning float went to The Beavers with The Church and Devonshire Rooms Pre-School also taking honours.
It was then time for the arena events that kicked off with the fancy dress parade and competition.
Then the Silhouette Dancing School gave a superb exhibition of Ballet and Dance with a Japanese theme followed by "Feed the birds" from Mary Poppins and finishing with interpretations of nursery rhymes. New for the school was a display by their gymnastics class, which performed a synchronized rendition of "Mission Impossible".
The arena continued with Morris Dancing, The Kent Caledonian Pipe Band, Brooks Academy of Dance, The Crusaders, Children's races and with a Tug-of-war finale sponsored by Taylor Woodrow Construction.
