Adelaide, Australia

After a 14 hour flight to Sydney and then a 2 hour flight to Adelaide we were met by Dad's Uncle John and Aunt Norma.

John and Norma.

They took us back to their house, we had lunch then headed for the beach, then we had showers and an early night.

Our home for the next 7 days.

Breakfasts with John and Norma were really good because Norma loaded the table up with lots of fresh fruits, cereals, breads and toast. We had fruit juices, tea and coffee and we ate outside every morning.

On our 2nd day in Australia we went to the top of Mount Lofty to look at the views and have lunch.

We looked at the nesting holes of the Fairy Penguins, we had lunch in the restaurant and then retuned to Victor Harbour.

On the way home we stopped at a surfing beach, the waves were much bigger than any of us.

We then went to a German restaurant for tea, it was really good. Then it was home for showers and bed.

The next day we went to Adelaide Zoo we saw all sorts of animals and fed the deer, sheep and ponies.

On the way home we rented a scary video called The Haunting.
Dad's Uncle John got really scared and ate six bowls of ice-cream to calm himself down.

The next day we went down to the Amusement Arcade, looked at the boats and had a drink then it was off to the beach again before going to Pizza Hut for tea, you could eat as much as you liked - and we did.

Happy times in Adelaide.

Today is Friday the 14th April and we are halfway through our holiday.
We quickly ate as much as we could from Norma's breakfast table.
We then all got into the Landrover and drove down to the river Torrens for a cruise on a boat, then we hired out some pedaloes, it was really hot again.

Next it was off to Haighs Chocolate Factory where we saw how chocolate is made and we tasted lots of different chocolate.

Then it was off to Brighton beach, the sea was cold today. Mels got stung by a jelly fish and we played in the sand and watched the sunset.

We held chicks, rabbits and guinea-pigs and we saw geese, pigs and piglets.

Sunday 16th April was a sad day because it was our last morning with John and Norma.
