THE TEAM:
Collin works with me in the restoration side of the buisiness and also
with the deliveries of the larger antiques. Collin has helped me for more
years than either of us care to remember. I reckon he is lucky to
work with someone so pleasant and understanding as me. He seems to think
a little differently at times...
Eileen is in charge of the "pine department", and will show you around
the workshop. Eileen, alias Aunty Wainright, is my mother, pictured
here with one of the guard dogs - but below that shrewd business eye beats
a heart of gold...........We think.
Then there's me, Paul. I buy the antiques, sometimes serve in the shop,
and do the deliveries and the restoration along with Collin. This is the
latest picture of me that I care to have on view; things went a little
downhill after this was taken - I still have the chubby cheeks, but now
I also have a matching stomach. I started my Antiques business about 25
years ago after my interest in old things led me into searching the antique
and junk shops, in the local towns and cities, for items I could restore
and sell. This was usually done when I was supposed to have been delivering
goods for my father's business; he started getting a little suspicious
when 45min deliveries started taking over 2 hours. I think it was rather
a relief for him when I finished working as his van driver, and left the
job to someone more reliable..
