The newsletter has a number of regular columns:

Information exchange is a question and answers section. Members can canvass current practice country wide. The replies will be published the following issues.

Information exchange allows members to share their experiences with other members of initiatives that they have undertaken. They need not just be initiatives that have gone well. Often projects that have gone badly, but have useful learning points can be just as valuable. Contributions can be anonymous, but it is often useful for inquirers to contact the contributor directly to find out further information. This can either be done directly or through Philip Howard.

Journal review allows members to share any useful articles that they have read in the surgical or anaesthetic literature with the membership. Not all members have access to a range of non mainstream journals. It need not be anything larger than a summary and the reference.

The resource centre is a collection of guidelines, protocols, job descriptions, past study day and symposia material and projects that members have sent in. The resource centre is meant to be used as a dip in resource i.e. when you are undertaking a project, see what is available first to save yourself some time. Currently, the service is free to all Surgery and Theatres Group members. The resource centre can be accessed by contacting Ann Slee on 0151 482 7612. We have received a number of new things this quarter to the resource centre.

Submissions to any of the these can be done by sending information to Philip Howard at Leeds General Infirmary.
