JayDee is resident in the UK, and of indeterminate age - he is either old enough that he prefers not to be reminded, or young enough that he doesn't care! By profession, Jay is a 'business analyst' - but what's in a title? By inclination he is - variously - a budding web designer, author (three chapters in ten years!), and layabout. He is a novice birdwatcher (definitely not a 'twitcher') and member of several wildlife/conservation organizations. He admits he will probably be a novice for a long time to come, since his 'serious' birdwatching expeditions are limited to one or two weeks in a year. That said, Jay's avian interests are not confined to 'wild' birds, as can be seen from his pigeon pages. He also has a fondness for chickens (preferably still running around, with feathers intact).
Thoughts on.... Birdwatching "For me it is not about hotlines, pagers and chasing around the UK to get another tick on my list. My working life wouldn't allow that anyway. If people like to do that, fine, but I simply enjoy the presence of whatever birds are about, wherever I happen to be. I wouldn't know a rarity if it came up and pecked me on the nose! Now and then I'll take a week off and do something approaching 'serious' birdwatching, but I think mostly I just find watching birds a kind of soothing influence." Responsibility
