My favourite from the copperhead series

His most recent work involves colouring woods, mainly English Sycamore. The highly figured timber ie; crotches, burrs and fiddleback are coloured to enhance the natural figure. This complements the simple aesthetic form and shapes that he likes to use in both his flatware and hollow vessels.

Less interesting timber ie; straight grained timbers are textured first and then the colour is applied, which gives the finished forms an appearance more akin to ceramics.
