2nd XI Prospects 2000

First division will see the likes of North Runcton, Burghley Park, Boston, Spalding, Woodhall Spa and Oakham first eleven sides. The division two will be much the same as last seasons division one, so if we are to challenge for any honours this time round we will all need to play our full potential.

This season sees another first for the club, that is a third team consisting of juniors and some seniors, who have been entered in the South Lincs Division Three. This will give the young lads who have been pushing hard for the second team cricket their chance of regular match practice. Both Brent Day and Steve McCall have taken on the challenge of running the team, both Vince and myself wish them and the lads well.

This season sees Neville Stankley as the 2nd's vice captain. His all round ability will give the team added strength in all departments and I look forward to working with him. As Vince already mentioned the standard of cricket will be tough so all players will have to dig in when batting, and bowling a tight line when required in the field.

We have one of the best second eleven sides in the county, although we play our cricket to win, it is still a social game and spirit within the team should he displayed both on and off the field of play. So lets try to work hard to keep it this way. I can promise that I will be giving it 100% effort myself.

Finally on behalf of Vince and myself many thanks to those people, members, players, officials, committee members and tea ladies for their support and help last season and for this coming year.
