Sleaford Cricket Club Ladies Committee
(A view from the kitchen!!)

Well it only seems like yesterday when we heard the sultry tones of leather on willow and here we are about to embark on another century of cricket at Sleaford Cricket Club. This inevitably will mean more cakes and sandwiches to be baked, buttered or bought by that faithful band of wives, girlfriends, mums and sisters, otherwise known as the Tea Ladies. On behalf of all ladies committee, and I'm sure the grateful cricketers, I would like to thank you all for providing what are known as "some of the best teas in the county", keep up the sterling work for this and many seasons. I would like to thank Ann-Marie Markham for taking over the task of Tea Rota Secretary, this is not an easy job, as I know from personal experience.

As well as providing teas at weekends, the ladies also provided lunch and tea for no less than 9 feature games during the 1999 season. We would like to thank all that helped on these occasions whether by making some sandwiches, baking cakes or by giving up some of your time to help in the kitchen, it is much appreciated by all on the Ladies Committee. But, we mustn't rest on our laurels, during the 2000 season we have 10 days of feature games to cater for and anyone who thinks that they can help out at any of these games please contact myself or any members of the Ladies Committee.

On behalf of all the Ladies Committee would like to say a special thank you Mrs Carole Gray who resigned from the committee in 1999. Carole has been a stalwart member of the Ladies Committee for several years and served as one of our representatives on the Main Committee, we wish you all the best for the future, Carole. We would like to offer congratulations to two of our committee members who have helped to boost future membership of Sleaford Cricket Club, Mrs Ann-Marie Markham and Mrs Tina Stankley who gave birth to Jasmine and Christopher James (CJ) respectively.

Finally, we would like to wish all of our teams the best of luck for the 2000 season.

Elaine Goacher
Secretary
