
Roy Bridges has produced several accounts of explorers and missionaries in Africa, his first major work being a study of the missionary Johann Ludwig Krapf in 1968. A succession of studies of individual travelers has appeared among the most recent being a large number of contributions to the Oxford Companion to World Exploration (2007) which has been issued also by the Folio Society. Entries for the 7th Edition of the Oxford Companion to English Literature have been prepared.
