Network Southeast Runabout Volume Seven

This DVD features rush hour at: London Bridge (forty-eight minutes) and a trip over the Thames and a look at Cannon Street (four minutes) on 30 October 1992, and East Croydon (fourteen minutes) and Purley (two minutes) on 20 February 1993. Unit classes seen at London Bridge are: 2 and 4 EPBs, 2 and 4 refurbished EPBs, (some of which are still in the BR blue and grey livery with the letter S prefixing the coach numbers), 4 Veps, 4 Cigs, 4 Ceps, 456s, 455s, 319s and ‘Thumper’ units 205016 and 205001 are seen departing with an Oxted Line service. We also see the new order of things to come with 465215/214 on test between London Bridge and Cannon Street. A trip over the Thames is taken with a look round Cannon Street Station. At East Croydon we see packed platforms with arrivals and departures of the Sussex Coast units, Horsham services, East Grinstead line, Thameslink services and 73s on Gatwick Expresses. ‘Thumper’ units 205025/205018 and 205001/205016 are seen departing. At Purley we see 60040 stabled in the yard and a road-railer on engineering duties. A London Bridge to Brighton service also arrives.

Network Southeast Runabout Volume Eight (features nine different class 50s)

This DVD was filmed between May and July 1991 and features the Class 50s. It lasts just over the hour, with very good picture quality. Although the sound is mono, it is very good with the beautiful sounds of the Fifties (and you can even hear the cuckoo calls at Yeovil Junction)!

Network Southeast Runabout Volume Nine

Features continuous traffic activity that includes over 80 locomotive hauled trains and 14 HSTs. It features the very busy West Coast Main Line at Watford Junction and Carpenders Park on Saturday 08/11/97 and Saturday 15/11/97 when it was being used by diverted cross country traffic to Poole and Brighton and by diverted freightliners to Southampton during the blockade of the Birmingham – Reading line. On Saturday 08/11/97 we also see the early morning freight at Kensington Olympia and diverted traffic through there. Loco classes: 31, 37, 43, 47, 58, 60, 86, 87, 90, 92. Units: DMU, 205, 313, 319, 321, Euro-stars. Some of the interesting workings: 60074 Braeriach on the Willesden – Cardiff Tidal metals running round at Kensington Olympia, 47307 and 47145 Merrddin Emrys passing through Kensington Olympia with a ‘Connect rail’ to Dollands Moor, 58050 on the enterprise, 158964 and 158846 on diverted Carmarthen – Waterloo services at Kensington Olympia, Cross Country 47s (including Porterbrook liveried 47817) using the WCML, 31450 (BR Blue livery) on an electrification train at Carpenders Park, 37350 LE at Carpenders Park, 47372 in PW livery on the Manchester to Grain freightliner at Carpenders Park.

Network Southeast Runabout Volume Ten

This volume continues the theme of diverted traffic over the WCML and continues on from Volume Nine at Watford Junction on Saturday 15/11/97, where we see 47s on freights, 47 hauled XCs, 90, 87s and 86s on WCML ICs, HSTs, 87101 Stephenson on a south bound intermodal and D9000 Royal Scots Grey powering through light engine. Another unusual sight is a 31 on a special southbound enterprise. The DVD lasts just over the hour with excellent film quality and stereo sound.

Filmed in April 1993, it mainly features the Great West Main Line at Acton Main Line and Acton Wells Junction, with a visit to Old Oak Common Depot. Paddington, West Ealing, Clapham Junction and Stratford are also visited.
