Here on my web site, I like to think that I did my bit to persuade as many people as possible that K***Y D*****H (henceforth to be referred to as The Scottish manager or TSM for short), was the worst manager of Newcastle United in recent times. At first he left the team unchanged and they went on to claim the runners up spot in the league.  The team that keegan had left was just in need of a bit of fine tuning , yet TSM decided to tear it apart , sell most of the good players and bring in players that weren't as good as the ones he had inherited. The rest is history , we went from championship contenders to relegation candidates in ONE Season. He had to go or we would have continued the downward spiral . He was given too much time, he should have gone a lot sooner. The 1998 cup final should have been the last straw, but he was given another 4 months and another £15 million to spend. In August 1998 TSM was sacked and in came Ruud Gullit, .........brilliant the best million that Freddy Shepherd has ever spent. If the board had given TSM any more time we would have been Relegated in the 98 /99 season. In TSM's reign I started the CND "campaign for no more Dalglish" One of the CND pages is still on the site if you are interested it is here. I also had a few "humorous " pages, using TSM's voice. They actually got paid for using one of my pages and calling it their own, perhaps the fact that they are a Sunderland based company explains it.
