Mystic mag

What does the forthcoming season have in store for the premiership teams this year? Who's staying up, whose going down, Which players will impress and which managers will lose their jobs. We pumped all the information into Mystic mag, And heres what he came up with.

THIS YEARS TOP 20

20

Bradford, were lucky to get promoted , and will be lucky to stay up. They have bought some premiership oldies to bolster the squad. This doesn't help them, They only pick up a handful of points , making relegation a formality as early as February.

19

Sunderland, after a bright start and a few surprise wins things look steady , but following a series of defeats in mid season Sunderland start to slide and boy, how they slide, This is not helped by disillusionment from the Sunderland players followed by unrest from the fans. Peter Reid finally throws in the towel in February, but the new manager can't help the wearsiders from a quick return to Division one.

18

Southampton, Another poor start to the season. sees Southampton lurking in the bottom 5 throughout the season. A change of manager in the New Millennium brings hope but the results don't improve much A last day defeat sees Southampton finally sink into the first Division.

17

Watford, the surprise package of this years new boys, Although never out of the bottom six, Graham Taylors men will do particularly well against other lower positioned clubs. A nail; biting final game of the season will see Watford narrowly beat the drop.

16

Upheaval and Scandals rock Middlesbrough this season It's just one thing after another for the poor old Smoggies. The season never really takes off and despite millions spent on new player before Xmas Robbo's lads fortunes don't improve. As the season ends Robson job looks under threat.

15

Coventry, and Gordon Strachan's newly imported mercenaries, set the premiership alive in the opening weeks, Even European qualification is hinted at at Highfield Road. Celebrations though are premature and it isn't long until normality returns to Coventry. Too many goals conceded means Coventry slowly fall down the table finishing in a poor 15th place, although relegation never looked likely.

14

West Ham, A nightmare season for Harry Redknapp's Hammers .A quick exit out of Europe and discontent at the performances of the new imports see West Ham in the wrong half of the table for most of the season West Ham will go from a team looking towards Europe to a team facing relegation. Some panic buying later in the season will see West Ham recover to mid table.

13

It's more of the same for Martin O'Neill Leicester City. The team have a mixture of results that see them one week beating a top team followed by shock defeats the next. Three Leicester players catch the eye of Kevin Keegan with one becoming a national hero after the playoff qualification game for Euro 2000.

12

Sheffield Wednesday , The surprise first managerial casualty of the new season. sees Danny Wilson replaced by an Ex England manager. It only brings fractionally better results but atleast the fans seem happy and more optimistic for the future.

11

Wimbledon, Egil Olsen follows in the wellysteps of his predecessors by keeping the crazy gang in the top half of the season for most of the year He does it without splashing out crazy money for players with crazy names from strange countries that no one has ever heard of.

10

Derby county, continue where they left off last year, bringing in players from strange countries with even stranger names than the previous year. It's a policy that pays off though as Derby continue to do well finishing in the top half of the season once again.

9

Aston Villa, another managerial change by deadly Doug in mid season sees villa recover slightly after a fairly poor start. The problems start to mount up though as no one wants the 12 players put on the transfer list by the new boss. 2000 ends withVilla in a respectable 9th, but not what they expected at the start of the campaign.

8

Everton , the surprise team of the season. after selling to clear the clubs debts in Pre season , most forecasters foresaw a relegation battle. Instead of buying cheap foreigners Walter Smith, puts his faith in the youngsters, they come up trumps and finish on par with the multi million pound Liverpool team.

7

Liverpool, struggle to find any consistency. Eventually Houlier gets the push, with Liverpool struggling in mid table. The new manager, a former Liverpool; player, soon has the team firing on all cylinders, but it looks as if they will lose a fortune on the costly imports bought in by Houlier. Pride is restored in the last few weeks as Liverpool overtake Everton to take 7th spot

6

Tottenham, Another good season for Ginola along with George Grahams new super striker finding the net more than any other player in the league, A European place looks likely unfortunately a few injury problems in the last month see Spurs drop back a place and it's the inter tot ofor the Spurs.

5

Leeds United's young guns, continue to Impress and Michael Bridges gets a call up for the England team. Some silly mistakes though by the defenders see a number of points needlessly thrown away, Leeds just make Europe and look forward to an even better season in the year ahead.

4

Newcastle United. Ruud Gullits lads after a bit of a shakey start soon get their act together. Dumas is the bargain of year Dyer the young player of the year, making the England team having built up a fine reputation for supplying the ammunition to do what he does best, Score goals.Big Dunc finally shakes off his injury and strikes up a great partnership with the England Captain, the future looks bright for the Toon.

3

Manchester United seem to suffer a hangover from last years treble. The new rules on descent mean that the arrogant men from Manchester pick up a host of booking which lead to long bans. Beckham and Butt are linked with moves to foreign clubs after their frustration leads to them being sent off three times each and serving long bans, Ferguson blames the poor results on tiredness due to them having to play games in the Champions league and world club finals.

2

Chelsea, look like they are going to walk away with the title after a brilliant start, Sutton is sensational, Poyet tremendous and Flo.... gets sold for silly money. he transfer comes just at the wrong time, A series of injuries late in the year mean They have to beat Arsenal in may to clinch the title. It's a tough game but Arsenal pip them at the post. Vialli is devastated and considers quitting.

1

Arsenal. Wenger's Gooners are up there throughout the season, rarely spectacular but rarely having a bad game. Kanu, is voted player of the year and Wenger manager of the year. Adams , Dixon and Winterburn announce their retirement at the end of the season. They go out in style as champions after a close battle with Chelsea in the penultimate match of the season.
