Taylors men will do particularly well against other lower positioned
clubs. A nail; biting final game of the season will see Watford

Celebrations though are premature and it isn't long until normality

relegation never looked likely. |

forecasters foresaw a relegation battle. Instead of buying cheap

consistency. Eventually Houlier gets the push, with Liverpool
struggling in mid table. The new manager, a former Liverpool; player,
soon has the team firing on all cylinders, but it looks as if they
will lose a fortune on the costly imports bought in by Houlier. Pride
is restored in the last few weeks as Liverpool overtake Everton to
take 7th spot |

more than any other player in the league, A European place looks
likely unfortunately a few injury problems in the last month see

England Captain, the future looks bright for the Toon. |

hangover from last years treble. The new rules on descent mean that
the arrogant men from Manchester pick up a host of booking which lead
to long bans. Beckham and Butt are linked with moves to foreign clubs
after their frustration leads to them being sent off three times each
and serving long bans, Ferguson blames the poor results on tiredness
due to them having to play games in the Champions league and world
club finals. |

to walk away with the title after a brilliant start, Sutton is
sensational, Poyet tremendous and Flo.... gets sold for silly money.
he transfer comes just at the wrong time, A series of injuries late
in the year mean They have to beat Arsenal in may to clinch the
title. It's a tough game but Arsenal pip them at the post. Vialli is
devastated and considers quitting. |

there throughout the season, rarely spectacular but rarely having a
bad game. Kanu, is voted player of the year and Wenger manager of the
year. Adams , Dixon and Winterburn announce their retirement at the
end of the season. They go out in style as champions after a close
battle with Chelsea in the penultimate match of the season. |
