Euro 2000 was a load of B*****Ks , that is if you are a Brit, with Wales losing to Italy , Bobby Gould resigns. Scotland fail to beat the faroe islanders, setting their prospects of qualification back. Worst of all is England don't get a single shot on target but manage 3 yellow cards and Scholes is sent off. My Euro report is on the Euro 2000 pages. England must now WIN against Bulgaria on Wednesday, then the big match will be against Poland in September. If we fail to beat them then it could all be over. On the Newcastle front, it is reported that Chelsea wanted to buy Shearer last week but were told to piss off. On the "players in " front. David James , the dodgy Liverpool keeper has been enquired about. Enquiring is one thing but buying him? Please no, not James. Flowers is available for the same kind of money. I wouldn't mind the other wantaway Liverpudlian, (Robbie Fowler), He now looks likely to be off to London. Arsenal are considering either Rebrov or Fowler, whilst Chelsea also fancy Fowler, I bet Le saux is happy about that prospect of being in the same dressing room as fowl up hehehehee. Personally I would prefer Arsenal to get Fowler, then possibly we may be in with a chance of plucking one of the most exciting players in the world from Dynamo Kiev. Sergii Rebrov wants to leave the Ukrainian champions and he wants to come to England, Ruud likes the look of him and has made initial enquiries . The big question now is "can we afford £10 million?" We would have no trouble if Shearer was sold, but we want him alongside Shearer / Ferguson don't we? This is why the likes of Given may have to be cashed in. isn't it? |

No TITIes at Newcastle....Liverpool's new signing Titi Camara has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to join Newcastle last season. Speaking after his £2.65m move to Anfield, the former Marseilles hitman said: "Around the time of the winter break Marseilles wanted to cash in on me by selling me to Newcastle But I didn't want to go. I wanted to stay and make an impression in the first team and help it reach the UEFA Cup final." So Liverpool have ended up with a right Titi , will we get the one Tit that is about to leave the pool? Robbie Fowler???
June 4th and BINGO, we hit the big one,
whilst out on the town in Birmingham a couple of "our lads"

June already, and before you know it will be the new season, Actually there is a count down clock on the front page along with a few little Java script programs that I am playing around with. If you have any problems with any of the new features then please let me know for if you don't I won't be able to fix em. Only one new rumour today, which came from A Wolves Web site. They say that Freddie Shepherd has been in touch with Colin Lee regarding Robbie Keane's availability. Keane who is an attacking midfielder / Forward is one of the top young prospects in England He was expected to go to Boro, after they seemed to have lost out on Juninho. Newcastle and Leeds are now though also in the hunt for Keane along with Shef Wed, Robbie is said to favour Leeds or Newcastle above Sheffield and Boro. The only stumbling block could be the price. The Wolves site claims that he wont be sold for less than £8 million, that would probably rule out Leeds and Sheffield although other sources believe, £5 - £6 million is a more likely price for a player who is only 18. |

The latest Rumour to hit Newcastle is hat ROBBIE FOWLER may be coming with Either Gary Speed or Shay Given going in the other direction. When I got this E mail from a friend in North Wales last night I dismissed it as a made up bit of garbage. This mornings local paper also has the story although they were saying that it would be a cash deal for £10 million. Apparently Holier wants rid of the controversial Fowler having already found a replacement. He has informed a number of top clubs about the availability of The striker at a what he sees is a discount price. I can't see Gullit spending that kind of money on a single player however a part Ex with one or more of our players would be a distinct possibility. My Welsh friend suggests that a five or six million plus player deal may be accepted, and Liverpool are looking for a top Goalie to replace James along with a replacement for Ince. Personally I think that Fowler could end up being one of the best strikers England has ever had, but needs a move away from Liverpool. I would be quite happy to have a Number 8 Fowler shirt in black and white next season. We desperately need a third top striker, as Shearer and Ferguson are bound to get knocks and suspensions again next year. |

Clarence Seedorf has gone back to the top of the attacking midfielder most likely to join Newcastle list . he annoyed Ruud by talking to Inter Milan after agreeing to join Newcastle last month. Seedorf has stated that he only talked to Inter out of courtesy and that Newcastle is his first choice. Newcastle have also been linked with Super Mario Basler from Bayern Munich. he was the blerk who scored the free kick against M** U** the other night. Basler was said to be worth £5 million, but as he Smokes , drinks and argues with the current Munich coach . It is believed that a quick half price deal may be on the cards. He did look like the best German player on the night, and the price would be a lot better than the £8 million for Rui costa. Boban name has also cropped up again in the last few days, he too would be in the bargain basement category, not that's a bad thing but I still wonder what's with all these "Attacking midfielders" that we have been linked with recently. there seems little sign of any Wide men, which leads me to the conclusion that Ruud is planning to go for a 3 - 5 - 2 formation next year with Domi and Griffin being played as wing backs. With all the speculation it looks like this is what Gullit would be planning if he can get them, (red = first choice, green = second) . We need TWO good players in each position, at the moment we barley have one in each place.
I can see a defensive midfielder with two wingbacks, Ahead would be a central attack minded midfielder that we don't really have at present, Then A player who will play either wide right or left to get crosses in for the two upfront. If Ruud's sales go to plan and Everyone on the list gets a decent price then I can see a big name coming as a 3rd striker. That little lot would cost in the region of £30/ £35 million which Ruud just does not have. He may raise £12 - £15 million from Summer Sale list but would have to Add others such as Given for £5 million and perhaps Barton Or Solano for 3 or 4 million. Add to that the £10 million top up from the board and it is possible, In the Attacking midfielder section I can see Seedorf being the main choice, with perhaps Boban as backup, then again he may stick with Maric as backup. Whatever happens there will certainly be more new players than old when we kick off again in August and at least next season the new signings will be half decent , not like some of the second rate signings that Dalglish bought. on the OUT'S list, Robert Lee could have gone to Fulham , But Newcastle have stuck a £2 million price tag on his head. Bracewell has bid One million so a compromise looks likely For More of whose coming and going See |

Am I sick , sick, sick, of all the Man U are wonderful stuff splashed all over the papers, You would have thought that they would have relegated the pictures of the open topped bus to somewhere within the newspapers today, but no, ALL the national papers had a massive picture of the red swarm covering the front and back pages. They had Centre page pullouts and even worse thousands of TITS on page three instead of the usual pair. I am sure i am not alone in feeling this way, I mean how many people in Scotland, the north east, or the midland want to see Man U all over the place, WE DON'T like them. Infarct. WE BLOODY WELL HATE THEM . Right .... sorry about that, back to toon side and I took my predict it girl off the front page this week. It has been replaced by a bit of Art....Yeah some luvly pictures of Northumbria, I thought it was about time I had a bit of culture, went up market. Soon i will be playing classical music on all the pages. IF MY VIEWING FIGURES PLUMMET MIND THE BOOBS WILL RETURN.... or if I get lots of E mails asking to put them back then I will bow to the pressure of the viewing public. Back to Toon talk, and Marcus Babel could after all come to play on Tyneside. You will remember from last year (unless you're that Singaporean glory hunter that keeps ICQing me) that Mr Babel was about to join our club. He then met up with Kenny Dalglish, took an instant dislike to him (sounds like our kind of player) and decided to stay with Munich. He now fancies coming to England and teaming up with fellow Deuchlander Didi Hamman , who has told him what a beautiful and cultured place Northumbria is (do you get the piccies yet? I am just doing my bit). Marcus will cost around £3.5 million and will be happy with a mere million pounds a year and will likely to be asked to fill either the right back spot, if you believe the papers I happen to know that Ruud will opt for three centre backs, with Domi and Griff as wingbacks.... YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.... I know my football strategies ...More later. now where's that Mozart CD? |

As predicted in my Sunday gossip column all the speculation regarding Newcastle will be on who is coming and who is going. Newcastle have added another eight youngsters to the not wanted list bringing the total unwanted players up to TWENTY .For the latest Gossip see Rik's Comments page.. Briefly this week so far, MONDAY .. Duncan Ferguson has another groin operation, this time it's just a minor op to remove scar tissue from the last one. It should mean that he will be able to start training properly in 3 weeks. He says he is looking forward to the next five years at Newcastle. Tuesday and Newcastle are linked with Portuguese attacking midfielder Rui costa. His current club mega rich Fiorentina would like to do a swap deal for Didi Hamman, Ruud though isn't so keen on losing Hamman which would mean him coughing up £ 8 million for Costa. Wednesday and the unwanted players list is released. No real surprises, 12 players with no future at Newcastle being put on the list. Newcastle say that they will consider offers for the following :- Phillipe Albert, Robert Lee, Nic Dabizas, George Georgiados, Stu Elliot, Lionel Perez, Stu pearce, Alex Pistone and Andreas Anderson, Carl Serrant and Des hamilton. Worryingly amongst the £13 million worth of unwanted player there are said to be NO BIDS on the table for any of the players despite many of them being on loan with other clubs. One player that will have a new club is Paddy Kelly, who is moving to Scottish club Livingstone on a Free transfer. Ruud Gullit flies to Stuttgart to try to get a decent price for Andreas Anderson, more to follow on that one when we have it... then He flies off to Barcelona to work as a match analyst in the Champions Cup Final. Manchester United beat Bayern Munich with 2 late goals in injury time. The whole of England is overjoyed by this wonderful achievement. BOLLOCKS the next few years will be hell with all the New Man United fans rubbing in how good Manchester united are and how they supported them since they were in their mothers womb. Thursday , I saw 3 people on the streets of North Shields wearing brand new man united shirts, It's Started , I can see more and more of these small minded glory hunters crawling out of the woodwork for a taste of glory.....urggggh it's creepy. Newcastle United added another eight players to the not wanted list. They are seen as the former youngsters that look unlikely to make the first team. and include Peter Keen and Ralf Keidel, Most are into their twenties and have been released to allow the next batch of promising youngsters to take a step up the ladder. The thought here being that you will probably only get two or three in every 10 that will make it to the fringe of the first team. This year the likes of Harper, Beharall, Hughes and McClen have all made it to the first team. There are still a number of other promising youngsters coming through so it isn't all doom and gloom for the future. Sources in Holland believe that Ruud would be interested in bringing Georgie Kinkladze back to England IF he can offload some of his surplus players and IF he can persuade Kinky to take a large pay cut. He is currently on £30k a week but is available for a mere £2 million from Ajax, where he hasn't settled well. In Spain Valencia are said to be after Nobby Solano, they are reported to be lining up a £3. million bid for him "Three Million ! ", Who do you think you are kidding , Three Million for wor Nobby, no way, If he is to go which he doesn't want to then we should be looking at £ 5 million, as that's how much we would have to pay for the likes of Seedorf to replace him. Indeed if my contacts in east Anglia are to be believed, Ruud top target is Kieren Dyer who will cost close to seven Million. Dyer is said to be very interested in joining either Newcastle or Leeds United after his Ipswich team were again beaten in the first Division playoffs. There are also reports of Gullit being interested in the England under 21 keeper Richard Wright with a 35 million price tag being sugested. Finally contrary to reports in some of the papers Shay Given is not on Gullit's summer sale list and says he is happy to stay and fight for the number one place. On the other hand he would have to think again. if another top keeper came in such as Richard wright, Tim Flowers or get this.... 'David James' , "Nintendo Nut" James may well be a top keeper on Fifa 99 perhaps but not in the real game, don't make me laugh. i think that with all this speculation regarding more goalkeepers, a five million pound bid for Given by the likes of Man U , Villa or Liverpool could be on the cards with Gullit going for Flowers and Jimmy Neilson, the Richard wright rumour is a smokescreen so that the larger clubs looking for a new goalkeeper would look towards Given rather than Wright , who would be available for a similar price. |

The day after cup final day is never a good day if you are on the losing side. The homecoming parade is underway, it is likely to have a big turnout again, with up to 50,000 likely to turn out. I'll put some pictures here tomorrow. As for the final. It wasn't a good result, no need for a match report, we all saw what happened and we are likely to spend the next two months discussing who should go, who should stay and who we need for one thing is certain, the current team just are not up to it.
I'll start the ball rolling by pointing you on the direction of
