January–June 2001: Campaign Co-ordinator; Leeds North East Labour Party.
- Responsible for overall campaign strategy including 'message'; budgeting; candidate scheduling; mail and canvassing targeting; literature distribution; events and fundraising on a nationally targetted Parliamentary campaign.
- Leaflet and website deisgn and writing.
- Responsible for office management and volunteer recruitment and organisation.
July–November 2000: Field co-ordinator and Finance Assistant; Gash for Congress.
- As field co-ordinator I recruited and managed volunteers for 'get-out-the-vote' operations across two townships (combined electorate 60,000) on nationally targeted Congressional race.
- As finance assistant my responsibilities included maintaining accounts and production of daily finance reports for a campaign budget exceeding $2 million, organisation of fundraising events and researching donor histories.
 
 
June-August 1999: Congressional internship; Congressman Michael Bilirakis.
- Researched and replied to constituent mail and aided legislative assistants in preparation for hearings.
- Reported on hearings, meetings and briefings for full-time staff.
 
 
 
March-April 1999: Parliamentary Internship; Fabian Hamilton MP & John Battle MP.
- Tasks included researching enquiries and replying to correspondence.
- Shadowed John Battle MP in his position as a Minister in the Department of Trade and Industry.

Other Activites And Interests:
    Politics. I have been a member of the British Labour Party since 1995 and am active in my home branch. In Oxford, I took advantage of the numerous key political figures and journalists who appeared to speak in lectures and discussion groups.  I was also able to do this extensively during my time in Washington.  In December 1999, I was also able to organise a job shadow of NATO communications officer Jamie Shea in which I attended press conferences and sat in broadcast interviews and press briefings with Lord Robinson during NATO Defence Minister's conference in Brussels.
   
   
   
   
    Hiking and Camping. I am a keen hiker both at home and abroad. I have used these skills on trips around the Canadian Rockies, Appalachian Mountains and Yorkshire Dales.
   
 
Debating. I have a continued interest in debating and public speaking from school. Since coming to Oxford I have spoken at the Oxford Union and regularly attended debates there.
