After five rounds and 40 games the score was 20-20, after 6 rounds: 24-24, after 7 rounds: 28-28 and with one game to finish: 31½-31½. The final game saw Robert Heaton facing the previously unbeaten Jiri Kalivoda. Robert just managed to secure the win in an exciting ending to leave Richmond victorious by the minimum margin.
