EPSCA U9 FINALS
MAY 13 2000
Richmond finished in a respectable third place in the EPSCA U9 Finals after suffering another last round collapse.
The convincing winners were Essex, who have a very strong team this year. Many of their players have
won top junior tournaments and compete on the adult tournament circuit - we've seen some of them doing well
in Richmond Rapidplays.
Congratulations to them, and also to North West London on an excellent second place.
We were pleased to see Cyrus Imregun returning to form, while Michael Boulton took his total to 9/9 for
the season. As we suspected, our top boards were not quite strong enough to enable us to make a credible challnege
for first place.
The signs are hopeful for next year: our top two U8s, Michael Boulton and Josh Hemmings both scored
100%, while our reserves, all of whom will still be eligible next season, shared first place in their competition.
